Amherst midfielder Maia Noyes carries high hopes into 2019 season

Lexington, Mass., native coming off All-American season as rookie

Fresh off a season at Amherst College that saw her named an All-American and a national Rookie of the Year, midfielder Maia Noyes (Lexington, Mass.) turned her focus to improving endurance.

“Last season was pretty intense,” she said, “and I found myself getting tired at the end of the year.”

After going 17-3 and reaching the quarterfinals of the NCAA tournament, the question of endurance also hovers over Amherst. Does a talented, experienced squad have what it takes to go the distance?

“We’re having fun,” longtime coach Christine Paradis said just ahead of the March 2 season opener against Colby.
