It’s been a while since the America East women’s lacrosse spotlight has shone on New England.
The league’s four out-of-region programs – eight-time defending champ Stony Brook, Albany, Binghamton and UMBC – are based around lacrosse hotbeds and recruit our region lightly.
That leaves Vermont, New Hampshire and UMass Lowell, after Hartford announced on Oct. 1 it was withdrawing from America East competition this season as questions linger about the program's future in Division 1.
