Like most New England teams every spring, Brunswick School capped off its campaign with its last regular-season contest in late May ... without a postseason playoff.
In 2022, though, the Bruins will get their first taste of postseason play through the first annual Prep Nationals, a four-team tournament that features four of the top programs in the country in Brunswick, Deerfield Academy, the Lawrenceville School (N.J.) and Salisbury School.
Brunswick coach David Bruce sees the tournament, which the Bruins will host in its inaugural year, as a way for his players to see their season-long work and preparation potentially turn their efforts into hardware.
“It’s a cool experience," he said. "It’s an experience that, hopefully, they all sort of have when they get to college in a bigger atmosphere. I think that’s something our league has missed out on in the last decade.”
