The Patriot League is one of the most storied conferences in all of college lacrosse. Boston University and Holy Cross have had their successes over the years, but neither has ever won the league outright.
However, both schools had standout freshmen that played serious minutes for them last spring and a full complement of reinforcements on the way this fall.
Boston University has worked tirelessly under coach Ryan Polley to be a competitive force in the region despite being the newest program in the Patriot League. Last season the Terriers made it to the conference playoffs, but were eliminated by Colgate, 11-8. Still, BU finished at 6-5 despite numerous rescheduled contests and a very young team.
