Francie Ames (Brookline, Mass.) grew up only a mile away from Boston College.
Kenzie Kent (Norwell, Mass.) was her idol. From 2015-19, Kent dazzled for both the lacrosse and hockey teams on Commonwealth Ave.
Kent netted 264 points (seventh all-time) and 138 points (eighth all-time) in lacrosse and hockey, respectively, placing her in the BC history books as one of the school’s most decorated players. Before BC, she was a star athlete at the Noble and Greenough School.
Some seven years later, Ames is the latest multi-sport athlete to make her mark at Nobles. And while she won’t follow in Kent’s footsteps to Boston College, the lacrosse and hockey dynamo will play both sports at Princeton.
After choosing the Ivy League school for hockey on July 1, Ames announced her commitment to the lacrosse program on Sept. 3, the third day of the recruiting window being open for the ‘28s.
“I watched Kenzie Kent play both,” Ames said. “Just being able to look up to someone who dominated in both sports while also attending a school with high academics showed me it was possible.”
