It takes constant work and repetition to master face-offs, and that’s just fine with Holderness School junior AJ Yeung.
“He’s got this drive that’s unparalleled,” Holderness coach Justin Simon said. “He’s up early in the morning on our turf, repping through his face-off stuff, whatever he does with all his different contraptions. It can be 10 degrees out in the winter and he’ll be out there shoveling a five-by-five square on the turf and doing his reps. It’s non-stop.
“So, I think his work ethic puts him into a whole other face-off category, and he also does a lot with his stick. He hits the wall, he can score goals. He’s the complete package.”
That dedication led to a breakout sophomore season for Yeung, who helped the Bulls to a 16-1 record and a Lakes Region League championship.
