Bryant was one of the sensations of the region in 2021. Along with Vermont, it took the baton left on the ground by the Ivy League forfeiture and ran to the NCAA playoffs with it.
The Bulldogs won the Northeast Conference tournament at a canter, besting Saint Joseph’s, 16-10, on the road. Their reward was a date with the eventual NCAA champs Virginia in the first round; that game ended up being one of the Cavs’ most challenging wins on their way to hoisting the trophy.
But 2021 is over. This season presents a whole host of new challenges to coach Mike Pressler’s squad, chief among them is repeating their previous feat of winning an increasingly more competitive NEC.
With such a tough conference slate on deck, Bryant elected to play six out-of-conference games to start its season. A strong returning crop of players will be tested once again, but a fully healthy roster is something the Bulldogs haven't had for a while.
