Strong defense and goalie play have been instrumental in Army’s recent runs in the Patriot League and NCAA tournament.
And the Black Knights may have just found their next stalwart between the pipes in Deerfield Academy goalie Alex Rolfe (Deerfield, Mass.), who announced his commitment in mid-October.
“I think I'm a pretty big, strong, athletic goalie,” said Rolfe. “I’m a decent amount bigger than a lot of other goalies in my class. I think I'm a pretty good communicator. And I love when I'm taking shots from inside, just beating around the crease and trying to kind of force shooters to put it right on my stick.”
The 6-foot-3 Rolfe weathered the storm that was a tough schedule last spring for Deerfield, which managed just a 10-8 record playing against other strong teams in loaded NE West 1.
