DAVENPORT, Fla. – The IMLCA Players Summit was held over the weekend on the heels of the IMLCA coaches convention.
That convention, which has effectively replaced LaxCon, is now the main event for college coaches to gather and learn from one another. A series of lectures and whiteboard sessions lead right into a tournament that's tailor-made for coaching staffs from Division 1, D-2 and D-3 to recruit together -- something that rarely occurs with the deep saturation of the summer circuit.
Several club teams from New England flew down to the Sunshine State to test their mettle against the best competition in the country, playing both regional super teams and national squads. The event featured top committed and uncommitted players in the Class of ‘26, as well as a slightly smaller field of club teams with ‘27s.
These are my first impressions. Follow laxjournal.com all week for an in-depth analysis of the standout players.
