Harvard carries chip on shoulder into 2019 Ivy League season

As late April rolled around last year, Harvard was sitting pretty at 7-1.

A deep, talented senior class – attackman Morgan Cheek (Wellesley, Mass.), midfielder Joe Lang, goalie Robert Shaw (Canton, Mass.) and defenseman Joe Kearney (Duxbury, Mass.) all took home All-Ivy League honors – was flexing its muscle.

But then the bottom fell out. Hard.

The Crimson lost their final five games, and promise of a first NCAA tournament berth since 2014 disappeared along the way. That feeling, that lingering sense of disappointment is still fresh, head coach Chris Wojcik said.
