Five reasons BC will play for another NCAA championship

For the fifth time in a row, Boston College will be part of the NCAA Division 1 women’s championship game.

The third-seeded Eagles, who last year won the program's first national title, staged a furious late comeback Friday night in Baltimore to overtake No. 2 Maryland, 17-16, and earn another spot in the final.

BC’s win was preceded by another comeback for the ages, a fourth-quarter lightning strike by No. 1 North Carolina over fourth-seeded Northwestern, 15-14, in a game that was delayed, in fact, by a lightning strike.

Here’s five reasons why BC will play for a title on Sunday.
