SUDBURY, Mass. -- The New England Lacrosse Showcase has become more than just an event for teams in the region -- it has become a tradition.
A big part of that evolution is the culture created when high school teams come together after their seasons for one last round of games. Held at Lincoln-Sudbury High School, it's one of the few events of the summer season to draw a crowd of college coaches and have them actually help coach the regional teams, in addition to recruiting.
It is clearly the inspiration of events like ML8’s high school championships, but unlike that tournament, this one focuses more on public schools (with one or two exceptions).
Besides the lack of prep schools, this event also excluded graduating seniors, giving all of the underclassmen, and rising seniors, a chance to play with one another without that class for the first time.
