Carly Peterson jokingly refers to her father, Jim, as her manager. Jim Peterson was not a lacrosse player, but his inspiration and organization has helped set up his daughter to achieve some great successes in the sport over the years.

For the Rivers School junior from Franklin, Mass., that meant having a goalie stick in her hand from a young age, back in the days when the head of the stick was about the size of her torso.

She would grow into both the sport and her equipment, and her development reached a major milestone back in November when she made her verbal commitment to attend and play lacrosse at Colgate.
