Small package. Big production. And, once again, large ambitions.
For Charlotte O’Halloran (Middletown, R.I.), the standout attack on the Babson College women’s lacrosse team who stands all of 5 feet tall, size is one part of her package, but far from the only one.
"I think a lot of people see that as a disadvantage," she said. "But I grew up playing boys hockey and had to be strong on my feet. A lot of times, when defensemen are checking me, they’re checking me in the head and I’m getting fouled."
O’Halloran is coming off two superb seasons for the Beavers, who again figure to battle with Springfield atop the NEWMAC.
As a sophomore, she scored 19 goals and produced a team-high 50 points as the Beavers won the regular season in the NEWMAC but lost a heartbreaker to Springfield, 5-4, in the conference championship game.
