At last, BC High (Mass.) reached the mountaintop.
After falling short in the Division 1 state championship game in 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2025 — all at the hands of St. John’s Prep — the Eagles nixed their rivals’ championship run in the semifinals before downing Lincoln-Sudbury for the crown.
“It was a storybook ending,” said BC High head coach Marcus Craigwell.
But perhaps a much larger challenge awaits in 2027: the title defense. It's a spot every team that has ever won a state championship has found itself in.
How will BC High approach that task?
