Women's teams to play in Hofstra tournament

Several New England women’s lacrosse teams will participate in the second annual Nick Colleluori Women’s Classic, presented by the HEADstrong Foundation on Saturday, Sept, 25 at Hofstra University.
Hofstra University women’s lacrosse will once again honor a former student and member of the Hofstra men’s lacrosse team, Nicholas “HEAD” Colleluori by hosting a 15 team collegiate fall tournament benefiting the HEADstrong Foundation.
New England teams scheduled to participate include Bentley University, Stonehill College, Univeristy of Connecticut, University of Massachusetts, University of New Hampshire and University of Vermont.
Other teams participating include Adelphi University, CW Post, Hofstra University, Iona College, LaSalle University, Long Island Squids, Long Island University, New York Athletic Club and Temple University.
The mission of the HEADstrong Foundation is to raise public awareness about the disease while raising funds for blood cancer research, treatment and ultimately a cure. Last year the tournament raised over $30,000 in an effort to support this mission.
