Fraser named assistant coach for U.S. men's indoor team

U.S. Indoor Lacrosse has named Randy Fraser as an assistant coach of the U.S. National Indoor Lacrosse Team, which will compete at the 2011 World Indoor Lacrosse Championships. Fraser, a former Team USA player and assistant coach, currently serves as an assistant coach for the NLL's Boston Blazers.
Fraser scored one goal and added 10 assists as captain of the U.S. team in 2003, and was an assistant coach in 2007. He also previously served as an assistant coach for the MLL's Boston Cannons, as well as the collegiate level at Dean College, American International College, and his alma mater, Springfield College.
Fraser played 13 seasons professionally, with the Boston Blazers (1991-1997), New York Saints (1998-1999), and Buffalo Bandits (2001-2004). He amassed 102 goals and 76 assists over 81 career games.
The 2011 World Indoor Lacrosse Championship will be held at Telsa Arena in Prague, Czech Republic, on May 21-28. Australia, Canada, Czech Republic, England, Finland, Ireland and the Iroquois Nationals will join the United States in the one-week tournament.
The fourth annual USIL Combine/Competition will be held the weekend of Aug. 28-29, at TurfCity Indoor Sports Center in Wayne, NJ. The Combine/Competition is a two-day event, featuring agility testing, as well as indoor lacrosse drills and scrimmage play on Saturday, followed by an invitational tournament which will be scouted by both Team USA and professional GM's and scouts on Sunday.
Tryouts for the U.S. Men's National Indoor Lacrosse Team will be held Sept. 10-12 at Turf City in Wayne, NJ.
