U.S. men roll past Germany

The U.S. men’s national team bounced back from its 10-9 loss against Canada with a 22-4 win over Germany Sunday in the Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) World Championships at the University of Manchester in England.
Brendan Mundorf led Team USA with five goals and three assists as 10 different scorers tallied in a balanced effort. Ryan Powell, Drew Westervelt and Paul Rabil (Boston Cannons) added three goals apiece for the U.S.
Seven different players scored Team USA's first seven goals as the U.S. took a 7-1 lead. Germany managed to make it 9-3 but the U.S. held the Germans scoreless for more than 25 minutes while going on a 13-0 run to seal the win.
Germany was playing in place of the Iroquois Nationals, who were unable to travel to England due to a passport dispute in the U.S.
The U.S. improved to 2-1 and resumes pool play Monday against England.
