Cannons' Turner earns MLL award

Boston Cannons goalkeeper Kip Turner has been named Major League Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week.
Turner was selected as the Defensive Player of the Week for his play in a 19-11 Boston win over the Chicago Machine. The Cannons are now 4-2 and tied for first place in Major League Lacrosse.
Turner led the way for Boston on Sunday with 21 saves while allowing 10 goals in just under 57 minutes of play. He was at his best in the third quarter, making five saves and allowing only one goal as the Cannons increased their lead from 9-8 at halftime to 16-9 at the end of three quarters.
Turner is now in his fourth year in the league, all with Boston. He’s on pace to have the best season of his career, currently sporting a league-best 11.79 goals-against average and a .581 save percentage.
