The Boston Blazers saw their season come to an end with a 12-11 National Lacrosse League playoff game at the Orlando Titans on Saturday night.

The fourth-seeded Blazers had taken two of three regular-season contests against the Titans, the top seed in the Eastern Division, and started strong on Saturday at Orlando’s Amway Arena.

Boston’s Nick Cotter scored a pair of first-quarter goals and Dan Dawson scored once and added three assists as the Blazers led 4-2 after one.

The Blazers increased their lead to 7-4 at the half as Jamie Rooney, Mat Giles and Daryl Veltman all scored, with Dawson picking up two more assists.

Orlando took command in the second half, however, outscoring Boston 4-2 in the third quarter to cut the Blazers' lead to one at 9-8.

A 4-2 fourth quarter advantage for the Titans gave Orlando the victory and a berth in the Eastern Division finals against Toronto, a 13-11 winner over Buffalo in the other East semifinal game.

Casey Powell scored five goals for Orlando, including a pair in the fourth quarter, to lead the Titans.

Veltman had three goals for the Blazers, with Cotter, Rooney and Gary Bining scoring two goals apiece. Dawson had a goal and seven assists for Boston.

Blazers goaltender Anthony Cosmo made 37 saves on 49 shots, while Orlando’s Matt Vinc stopped 35 of 46 shots.
