Yale men climbing in polls

Yale University continues to climb up the men’s Division 1 national rankings as the Bulldogs are ranked No. 11 in the Nike/Inside Lacrosse Media Poll while sitting at No. 13 in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Asscociation Poll.

Yale is 8-3 and has won five straight games, including Saturday’s 14-11 victory at Brown. The Bulldogs are currently 3-2 in the Ivy League.

UMass and Fairfield are also ranked, with UMass at No. 16 in both polls, while Fairfield is No 17 in the Nike/Inside Lacrosse rankings and No. 18 in the USILA poll.

Brown, Bryant and Harvard received votes in the Nike/Inside Lacrosse poll, with Harvard and Brown getting votes in the USILA poll.

In the USILA Div. 2 poll Merrimack (9-2) has moved past fellow Northeast-10 conference foe Bentley (5-3), which currently sits at No. 7.

Merrimack has won two straight games, including a big 9-5 showdown victory against Bentley last week.

In Division 3, unbeaten Connecticut College jumped up to No. 6 in the USILA poll thanks in large part to an 8-6 win over Tufts (10-1) which dropped to No. 8.

Middlebury (7-3) is the only other New England team in the poll, coming in at No. 15.

Bowdoin, Springfield and Western New England College were among those receiving votes.
