UMass men move up to No. 7

The University of Massachusetts men’s lacrosse team continues to climb in the national rankings.

The Minutemen (7-2) have moved up to No. 7 in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Division 1 Top 20.

UMass was No. 7 a week ago and has won four straight and five of its last six.

Other New England teams also ranked in the Division 1 Top 20 include Harvard (5-3) at No. 18, Yale (5-2) at No. 19 and Brown (3-4) at No. 20.

Dartmouth is among several teams receiving votes but not in the Top 20.

In the USILA Division 2 Top 10, Bentley (3-1) is tied at No. 5 with Dowling, while Merrimack is sitting just outside the Top 10.

Three New England teams are among the USILA Division 3 Top 20, with Tufts (7-0) at No. 6, Connecticut College (8-0) at No. 8 and Middlebury (4-2) at No. 12.

Williams, Eastern Connecticut, Colby and Endicott were among teams receiving votes in the poll.
