NEW HAVEN, Conn. — After the recent earthquake in Haiti, the Yale women's lacrosse team made a last-minute change to the free lacrosse clinic they had scheduled for Jan. 24: it would also serve as a fund-raiser. With less than a week to get the word out, the team still had a remarkable response. It wound up raising $3,502 for the American Red Cross' relief efforts while also helping teach the game to the local youth lacrosse community.
The clinic, which was held at SONO Field House in Norwalk, Conn., was open to all ages and featured the Yale coaching staff and team. Approximately 75 young lacrosse players attended.
