PRAGUE - Ireland won't forget its first international women's lacrosse game against the United States, although it's not a match the Irish will want to remember.
Led by Caroline Cryer (four goals, three assists, five draw controls), the US rolled, 22-5, in a World Cup quarterfinal Wednesday. Team USA (5-0) will face England in a semifinal Thursday. England defeated Japan, 19-12, Wednesday. The US beat England, 17-8, in its opener last week.
The US fell behind, 4-3, Wednesday then went on a 15-goal run to take control.
Katie Rowan had a hat trick and added five assists for the US. Kristen Kjellman (Westwood, Mass.) and Sarah Albrecht (Braintree, Mass.) each scored twice, and former Dartmouth standout Devon Wills made three saves.
Australia and Canada will meet in the other semifinal.
