Rabil, Corp cop MLL awards

The Cannons’ Paul Rabil, who scored four goals, including a pair of two-pointers, and added three assists in a 19-9 rout of Washington Friday, was named Major League Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.
Cannons midfielder Brandon Corp earned his first Rookie of the Week award, and Denver Outlaws goalie Jesse Schwartzman was named Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.
Rabil took seven shots, scored in each quarter, and notched both of his two-pointers in the first half, one of which came on a power play. Rabil, who assisted on goals by Matt Poskay, Greg Downing, and Sean Morris, has 24 points and is tied with Denver's Brendan Mundorf for the league lead.
Corp, the Cannons' top pick in the MLL Collegiate Draft last month, scored and added his first career assist in the trouncing of Washington. The attackman scored early in the first quarter and assisted on a goal by Sean Morris in the fourth.
In Saturday night’s matchup against the Toronto Nationals, Denver's Schwartzman played one his best games. Holding the Nationals to a season-low eight goals, Schwartzman stopped 16 shots.
