Q&A

How did you get started playing lacrosse? I moved to Severna Park, Md., in the fourth grade and everyone played lacrosse. I didn’t start playing until sixth grade, but fell in love with the sport right away.

Who was your most influential coach? Cornell head coach Jeff Tambroni — he always knew how to get the most out of his players, and he taught us that it was important not just to be good players, but good people, too.

What’s the best advice you’ve received? “It’s not worth doing unless you do it right.”

What’s the highlight of your lacrosse career? I had the opportunity to play in front of 52,000 people at the 2007 NCAA final four [at Baltimore’s M&T Bank Stadium].

Who is/was your most memorable teammate? Matt McMonagle, my fellow captain from Cornell, was one of the best players I have played with and is also one of my best friends.

What are your future goals? I want to win both the MLL and NLL championships. I’d also like to play for Team USA and help the squad win a championship at next year’s World Games.
