Q&A

What’s your strongest type of shot? The overhand shot. This is the most accurate shot in lacrosse and it allows me to hide my stick behind my body, which makes it hard for the goalies to pick up my release. The overhand shot also allows me the opportunity to change the release point on my shot without changing my rotation.

Do you do stick tricks? I always have my stick in my hands trying new moves and tricks. My favorite trick is a one-handed shot between my legs.

What is the highlight of your lacrosse career? Representing Team Canada at the 2007 World Championships. Our team was fortunate enough to bring home the gold. There is no greater joy in the world than knowing you are representing an entire nation.

How did you get started playing lacrosse? I started playing lacrosse when I was 12 years old. My home town of Oakville (Ontario) didn’t have a lacrosse program, but I started playing in the sixth grade. Ever since my dad bought me my first stick, I have never been able to put it down.

What are your future goals? My main lacrosse goal is to grow the sport at the grass roots level. I have recently started my own company called Revival Lacrosse, conducting camps and clinics across Canada to promote the sport. Eventually, I would like to travel around the world to introduce lacrosse to nations that have never played the game. In the immediate future, my main goal is to bring home an NLL championship to Boston.
